Poker Rakeback Intro
You probably already know what rake is but to fully appreciate the beauty of rakeback a quick recap could be useful.
The rake is a fee that poker rooms charge on each pot. Normally, the rake is somewhere between 0 and 10 percent of the total pot. Most poker rooms cap their rake at either $3 or $5. You also pay rake when you enter a poker tournament. On average the rake or tournament fee is 10% of the buy-in.
Even if you are playing small stakes poker the rake you pay starts adding up quickly. Many of you reading this probably pay hundreds of dollars in rake each month.
The solution to this problem is rakeback. There are now tons of online poker rooms that give you a large chunk of your rake back. If you play your cards right (no pun intended) you can get anywhere from 25% to 60% of your rake back.
How much rakeback you will get back depends on two things - the amount of rake you have paid (minus bonuses) and your rakeback percentage. For example, if you have paid $1,300 in rake and received a $200 bonus from an online poker room that gives you 32 percent of your rake back you will get $352 that month - (1,300-200)*0.32.
Getting rakeback used to be some what tricky. These days, however, most online poker rooms transfer your rakeback money automatically into your poker account. Also, many rakeback sites give you access to stats on how much rake you have paid etc.
